This is the organ I built in 5 weeks. This project didn't get started until the first of September. It is made completely from 2 inch and 1 inch foam sheets. The keys were made from 1/2 inch foam. The stops were made from porcelain and brass knobs, glued on dowels and put into the foam. The whole keyboard area is curved. The pipes were made from 2 inch PVC pipe. They were epoxied into a 4 inch ABS pipe which is the chamber I pumped fog into. On the left side of the organ you can see the fogger and ABS pipe. A tombstone would later hide the fogger. Bridal netting is glued between the piped to have a focus point for my Ghost Roto- Gogo spot. As the fog rose up from the pipes the light from the Gobo made it appear that ghosts were coming from the organ pipes, and the netting created a good image behind the fog. The Gargoyles were purchased from a local Halloween store and finished off the tops of the legs. They have red LED eyes. The organ music was from my stereo hidden behind the organ. I burned a CD with midi and some of my favorite organ music.
Add some creepy old music sheets, a candelabra, my skeletal goblet, and black roses and the stage is almost set.
A night shot from about the same spot as the above picture. I like the sunset in the background. Time for all the Ghosts and Goblins to appear.
In 2000 due to lack of funds I decided to use the organ again. The trick or treaters love him so much I figured they wouldn't be disappointed. They weren't. This year Cryptie is sporting a new top hat! I added a large tombstone I built and a few other pieces to change the look of the yard. Shady Slim from Spencer's Gifts made an appearance. The wind blew all evening long and I seemed all I did was pick up tombstones all night.
