This project was a challenge for me. I've never cut and bent metal. But I loved the skeletal organist from Brent at Devious Concoctions, so I decided now was the time to learn. It has really expanded my building horizons. I knew if I could pull this off I could do just about anything. After purchasing one big ass vice with an anvil attachment and a large hammer that meant business I was ready to start. Brent has been wonderful answering my email's and looking at the pics I sent and making suggestions. Above are pictures of the metal framework that attach's to the organists chair.

Little did either Brent or I know that the Bucky chest cavity has shrunk since he built his several years ago. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't get the skeletal frame to fit so the arm bars could move unhindered. After stressing over this and trying everything I could think of Bucky ended up on the garage floor.
Grimsley's new persona. He is now a Zombie and much happier. I don't think he was happy being a mere skeleton.

Grimsley's hair added. Isn't he stunning.
Here is the video of Grimsley's transformation from beginning framework, adding elements to check movement with the weight of the arms, and finally dressing him.

Grimsley sporting new duds! The Halloween Gear store in the mall opened this week. It is one of my favorite places to shop. Especially if I'm looking for something really special and higher end costumes than Spencer's or many of the other Halloween stores. I've watched this store grow over the last 10 years from a very small store to now over 6000 square feet of pure Halloween Joy! Check it out if you dare.
I decided to change Grimsley's dud's because I felt he needed more color rather than just the black vest. This outfit which is the Gothic Vampire fit the bill perfectly. The vest is Burgundy velvet. And because the shirt sleeves are attached to the vest and the wing tip collar and ascot are another separate piece with no back the motor inside will get much more ventilation. The awesome cape that completed the new outfit will hang on a spooky coat rack within Grimsley's organ room.
Love the mirror effect.
